About

Top of the Mitt National Writing Project is a site at the National Writing Project at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey, Michigan. Top of the Mitt is the flagship program of our Foundation for Teaching and Literacy. When federal funding for the National Writing Project was eliminated from the federal budget in 2009, we founded the Foundation for Teaching and Literacy in order to continue supporting teachers in Northern Michigan to have access to a National Writing Project site.
